Magi Astrology and the American Idol Finalists

On Wednesday night May 21, the popular Fox television show American Idol ended its second season...and this year's "American Idol" was picked by votes from the viewing audience. Ruben Studdard won by a pretty narrow margin of 130,000 out of 24 million votes...and there were some questions right after the show as to the fairness in the voting, busy phone lines etc.

In our opinion, both men won...both have gotten recording contracts, and both are making television appearances...and the public loves both of them.

The truth of the matter is that both men who were the two finalists are very very good singers...they are simply different. A competition of this sort is different from an athletic competition. In most athletic competitions, there is an objective defining factor...one team makes 1 more goal than the other...or one runner reaches the finish line 3 seconds before the next. Such things are much easier to measure independently. In artistic realms though, there is always a greater amount of subjectivity. Would someone want to pick who is the better singer Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston? They are both phenomenal singers...they are also both unique. Remember, Art and Artistry are symbolized by Neptune...and Neptune also symbolizes all things ORIGINAL.

Certainly BOTH Ruben and Clay have become CINDERELLAS...Clay early on was very nerdish...and Ruben is hardly the svelte matinee idol. But both are phenomenally gifted...and both have become CINDERELLAS by being involved in this show , because of their voices, and because they have stayed the course and persevered.

At the Magi Society, we know two things...that their vocal gifts are gifts from God that will be reflected in their astrological charts. Whenever someone has a special gift or talent, it is reflected in their PERSONAL ASPECTS, the Planetary Geometry of the day that they were born. Ruben Studdard's Natal Planetary Geometry shows why he can be a phenomenal singer

In Geocentric Longitude, Ruben has two SYNCHRONIZATIONS of Sun, Mercury, Neptune and Sun Mercury and Saturn. There is ALMOST a Grand Trine formed...but Neptune and Saturn are 5 degrees apart, which is just a bit too wide to really qualify. However, DOUBLE TRINES, ( we could call these conjuncted trines) are ALMOST as good as a grand trine.

Notice that the PLANETARY SYMBOLISM of Ruben's Synchronizations already point to Vocal, Communicative, Expressive gifts...because both Synchronizations have the Sun Mercury conjunction, which symbolizes The Person ( Sun) who Sings ( Mercury).

When we add in Neptune, we have Artistic, Original, Artistic, Romantic, Creative, Long Lasting,Peaceful,Soothing (Neptune) Singing, Breathing ( Mercury), and an Original, Creative, Artistic, Romantic, (Neptune) Person ( Sun). [Mercury rules not only the vocal cords, but also the respiratory system...and a singer's breathing effects how well he/she can control and hold notes, as well as how he/she can color or shade the tones that are produced]

The second Synchronization involving Saturn indicates a Dominant, Dominating ( Saturn) Singer ( Sun with Mercury). Remember, in the CHART OF A PERSON, Saturn alignments are symbolic of GIFTS/TALENTS/ABILITIES...and the primary symbolism is of 'control' or the ability to be dominant. This would also give Ruben the ability to Control ( Saturn) his voice ( Mercury).

In Declination, Ruben has yet another enhancement involving Mercury. Mercury is Parallel Pluto, indicating Elevated Talent (Pluto) as a Singer ( Mercury) and Powerful ( Pluto) Singing ( Mercury).

He also has a SYNCHRONIZATION, of Venus parallel Saturn and both contra-parallel Uranus..Dominance ( Saturn) through being Loved ( Venus) by the Public ( Uranus)...as well as Dominance and Control ( Saturn) in making money ( Venus) from the Entertainment Industry ( Uranus).

 

 

 

 

Ruben's Heliocentric Natal Alignments are every bit as important in understanding his special gifts/talents/abilities

In Heliocentric Longitude, THE EARTH/MOON COMPLEX IN RUBEN'S CHART IS ALSO CONJUNCT MERCURY!

Mercury ordinarily moves very quickly in Helio Longitude...in fact, on the day that Ruben was born, Mercury in Heliocentric Perspective was just about 180 degrees away from where it was in Geocentric Longitude on the same day...and because of this, Ruben could be born with BOTH Sun AND Earth conjunct Mercury. This is a TRANSDIMENSIONAL alignment...and just as we pay SPECIAL attention whenever there is a Bi-Level alignment ( for example when the same alignment occurs in both Geo Longitude and Declination) , so too we pay special attention to TRANSDIMENSIONAL ALIGNMENTS. Again, this underscores that Ruben is The person ( Earth) who Sings ( Mercury).

Ruben has another TRANSDIMENSIONAL alignment...in Helio Latitude, Venus is contra-latitude to Uranus...remember, in Declination, Ruben has Venus contra-parallel to Uranus as well. This is symbolic of being loved ( Venus) by the public ( Uranus)..enhanced ( Venus, as the Lesser Benefic always ENHANCES any planet it aspects in a natal chart) Fame and Popularity ( Uranus) and the ability to make money ( Venus) from Mass Media and the Entertainment Industry ( Uranus).

The Earth's Position In Latitude Is a Universal Position

Ruben's natal Venus Uranus contra-latitude is even more important though. In Heliocentric Latitude, in every single chart, the Earth/Moon complex sits at 0 degrees...it is the single UNIVERSAL POSITION. Because of this, whenever there is a contra-latitude, the MIDPOINT of the two planets is aligned with the Earth/Moon complex. In Magi Astrology we call this a MIDPOINT CROSSING. The Midpoint of Venus/Uranus Crosses over the Earth-Moon complex. This again tells us that Ruben ( Earth/Moon complex) can be loved by the public and make money in the entertainment industry ( Venus/Uranus)...but it also tells us that RUBEN HAS A LINKAGE OF HIS VENUS/URANUS MIDPOINT TO THE EARTH/MOON COMPLEX IN EVERY SINGLE CHART OF EVERY PERSON AND EVERY THING, because in Heliocentric Latitude, the Earth-Moon complex position is the same, and is ALWAYS the same for every chart...always.

Look closer. Notice that when Ruben was born Jupiter was parallel to the Earth. This is symbolic that Ruben [Earth/Moon] is a fortunate [Jupiter] person...it is also telling because it means that Jupiter in Ruben's chart makes a MAGIcal linkage to the Earth/Moon in everyone else's chart. [That is a VERY fortunate thing for other people, because it indicates that Ruben will tend to see most people in a forgiving, generous light...though it can also mean that Ruben may see people through rose colored glasses]. Further this means that the Venus/Uranus midpoint is ALSO parallel to Jupiter, which symbolizes Success ( Jupiter) in being loved by the public and making money from the Entertainment Industry ( Venus/Uranus)...and it goes even one step further.

Midpoint Crossings and Magi Quads are other special forms of Planetary Geometry

Those of you who have read our second book, The Magi Society Ephemeris, would have learned that another of the phenomenal discoveries of the Magi Society is the existence of an even more specified type of PLANETARY SYNCHRONIZATION which is called MAGI QUADS. Magi Quads originate from understanding the Magi Astrology principle of Midpoint Equivalence. The Magi Society has discovered that Midpoints behave IN EVERY WAY, EXACTLY LIKE A PLANET. So a Midpoint can make a parallel or any other kind of aspect to a planet..and a midpoint in one chart can make a clash or linkage to a planet in another chart.

Beyond this though, MIDPOINTS CAN ALSO MAKE ALIGNMENTS TO OTHER MIDPOINTS. The Magi Society has found that this is especially powerful whenever any two or more midpoints SIT RIGHT TOGETHER, whether in Longitude ( two midpoints that are conjunct) Declination or Latitude (two midpoints that are Parallel..note, in Declination and Latitude, Magi Quads cannot be created by midpoints that are contra-parallel or contra-latitude...only by two or more midpoints that are Parallel). In fact, whenever this happens in LONGITUDE, a PARALLELOGRAM is created....which of course is a special form of SYMMETRICAL PLANETARY GEOMETRY..and one of the primary teachings of MAGI ASTROLOGY is that SYMMETRICAL PLANETARY GEOMETRY is always phenomenally powerful.

Midpoints BEHAVE in EVERY WAY precisely like a planet i.e. they are EQUIVALENT to a planet. BUT, there is one difference. Midpoints are more SPECIFIC, because a midpoint MELDS TOGETHER the symbolisms of the two planets involved. [There are a couple of fine points that are exceptions to this rule..but 99.9 percent of the time , a midpoint is the MELDING of the symbolisms of the two planets forming the midpoint. An example of an exception to this principle of 'melding' meanigs would be the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint. The natures of Jupiter and Saturn are so entirely antithetical that in HISTORICAL CHARTS there is simply no way to combine or fuse the two meanings..they are entirely at odds...and it is this quality that is the key to understanding of this midpoint in transit, progression, and even in linkages and clashes from one chart to another]. For example, Venus symbolizes MONEY..but Money in general. The Venus/Uranus midpoint symbolizes Money From the Entertainment Industry ( or other Uranian symbolisms...like the Internet, Mass Medias...Airplane Manufacturing..Airlines).

An example of an exception to this principle of 'melding' meanings would be the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint. The natures of Jupiter and Saturn are so entirely antithetical that in HISTORICAL CHARTS there is simply no way to combine or fuse the two meanings..they are entirely at odds...and it is this quality that is the key to understanding of this midpoint in transit, progression, and even in linkages and clashes from one chart to another. In the chart of a PERSON though, just as we understand that Saturn alignments are the signs of special gifts/talents/abilties, and as we look to use the more neutral symbolisms of Saturn [such as 'control'], we do the same with the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint. In fact, because of the combination with Jupiter, in a Person's Natal Chart we consider Jupiter's special ability to neutralize Saturn as being the most important symbolism, so that a natal midpoint crossing involving the Jupiter/Saturn midpoint most often indicates unlimited abilities ( Saturn is symbolic of limitation, and Jupiter overpowers Saturn's symbolism entirely...hence un-limited).

Ruben's conjunction of midpoints forms a Magi Quad in Latitude

In Ruben's chart, because the Earth/Moon complex and Jupiter are both at 0 degrees, the Earth/Jupiter midpoint is at 0 degrees....and the Venus/Uranus midpoint is ALSO at 0 degrees...so this creates a QUADRATURE, a COMBINING of the two midpoints Earth+Jupiter<>Venus+Uranus...

A Magi Quad is an ULTRA SPECIFIC MELDING TOGETHER OF TWO MIDPOINTS.

The research of the Magi Society has shown that because of this, Magi Quads are extremely useful with regard to understanding a person's VOCATIONAL GIFTS.

Ruben's Latitude Quad would say A Success Person ( Earth/Jupiter) via being loved by the Public and making money in the Entertainment Industry ( Venus/Uranus). This means that from the day he was born, Ruben was especially empowered to be able to succeed in the Entertainment Industry and to be very very popular...which is just the type of thing one would need if one wanted to successfully compete in an arena like American Idol.

Ruben and all people have many other Magi Quads and Midpoint Crossings. So Ruben has three Magi Quads Sun+Chiron<>Uranus+Pluto, Sun+Chiron<>Mercury+Venus, Mercury+Venus<>Uranus+Pluto. Clay's Natal Planetary Synchronizations indicate his gifted nature

When we look at Clay's natal astrology in Geocentric Longitude, we can note two PLANETARY SYNCHRONIZATIONS. One consisting of Sun, Jupiter, Chiron and Venus...and another consisting of Mercury, Neptune, Mars, Uranus and Pluto.

Ordinarily, the planetary synchronization consisting of the largest number of planets will be the most important. So here we have a synchronization that says Energy Applied (Mars) to Creative, Artistic (Neptune) Singing ( Mercury) that is Powerful ( Pluto) and Popular ( Uranus). This synchronization also says, Long Term[Neptune] Energy[Mars] for Singing[Mercury] in a Mass Media[Uranus] Competition[Pluto], and Muscular, Strong, Forceful [Mars] Singing[Mercury] that is Powerful [Pluto] and Popular[Uranus].

Magi Astrology helps you to understand the alignments in a person's chart more accurately

Clay's second synchronization says a Person (Sun) who is a Successful(Jupiter) Cinderella (Venus Chiron). Remember that in a PERSON'S NATAL CHART, THERE ARE NO BAD ALIGNMENTS.

Traditional Astrologers make a very very big mistake when they read natal alignments in the same way that one would read these alignments in an HISTORICAL CHART....that means that while there is a T-Square as a part of Clay's Natal Planetary Geometry, we do not read it with a negative tilt! Notice too that the Venus Chiron midpoint would be on Jupiter...which is a very fortunate midpoint crossing...it says Success ( Jupiter) as a Cinderella ( Venus + Chiron)...and Clay has been just that!!

Clay's Planetary Geometry foretold that he could become a type of CINDERELLA

Clay was also born with the CINDERELLA ENHANCEMENT of Venus contra-parallel Chiron in Declination...Clay also has Mercury parallel Mars[Energetic, Strong Singing], and Sun parallel Neptune[A Person of Artistic Talent].

The Mercury Mars Parallel and Mercury Mars conjunction are a BI-Level Alignment...beyond this it is a special type of Bi-Level alignment called a PLANETARY ECLIPSE. A Planetary Eclipse is much much more powerful than a mere doubling of the symbolism indicated...it is more like triple or quadruple as powerful...and it places a very strong focus in the chart. Mars with Mercury is symbolic of Energy applied or Energetic ( Mars) Singing...also a Forceful, Strong, Muscular ( Mars) Voice ( Mercury).

We can analyze this synchronization even further. Notice that Mercury is at the midpoint of Mars and Neptune...and that Uranus is then at the midpoint of Mercury and Pluto, Neptune and Pluto, and Mars and Pluto...Uranus ( Fame and Popularity) then is ENHANCED by each of these midpoints [which perhaps explains the Clay fan clubs that have cropped up among the teeny bopper sets]. These midpoint crossing say Fame and Popularity ( Uranus) from Powerful Singing ( Mercury/Pluto), Elevated Levels of Artistic Talent ( Neptune/Pluto) and Energy applied to being Competitive ( Mars/Pluto).

 

 

 

 

Clay's Heliocentric chart indicated that he could become Super Famous...and pointed towards his having a 'Golden Voice'

When we look at Clay's Planetary Geometry in Heliocentric Longitude, we find another synchronization...[Note. As per all books published by the Magi Society, and all charts on this website, we use a 12:00 noon time when we are not sure of an exact birth-time. In Geocentric Longitude, only the Moon moves more than a degree+ over a 24 hour period...and you will note that in almost no case do we include the Moon in our analysis. The Moon can move anywhere between 12 to 15 degrees in a day , in longitude...and since we use an orb of only 3 degrees +/-, there would be no way to accurately rely on the Moon position given by 12:00 noon.

In Helio Longitude, Mercury moves about 3 degrees in a 24 hour period. In this particular case, it is worth noting, because while Mercury is at 11.5 at 12:00 noon, there is a good reason to consider that it may well be a bit lower in degree...which would mean that Clay may well have been born a bit earlier than 12:00 noon.

We know that Clay has a 'Golden Tone' to his voice...and that is precisely what the Mercury Chiron alignment indicates. Now, in Helio Latitude, Clay also has Chiron parallel to Mercury...which is more than enough to indicate Clay's 'golden tone' on its own. But it is also possible that Clay was born a bit earlier, and that Helio Mercury is closer to the 10.5 degree area in his timed chart...this would also make sense with regard to certain progressions that are active in his chart which we will look at briefly later.

We'll include Mercury in Clay's synchronization of Chiron, Mercury, Earth and Saturn...a Dominant (Saturn) person ( Earth) who sings charismatically, with a 'golden tone' ( Mercury Chiron).

Clay also has a triple parallel in Helio Latitude of Venus, Jupiter and Uranus. A triple parallel is the Declinational or Latitude equivalent of a Grand Trine...remember, the Venus Jupiter alignment, the Venus Uranus alignment, and the Jupiter Uranus alignment are all SUPER ASPECTS listed in our first book, Astrology Really Works...The Venus Jupiter aspect is extremely fortunate ( which makes sense because Jupiter is the Greater Benefic and Venus is the Lesser Benefic)....it says Success (Jupiter) with Money ( Venus), as well as a Leader and or a Champion...Jupiter with Uranus is the SUPER FAME alignment, indicating Success in the Entertainment Industry..and as we saw with Ruben, the Venus Uranus alignment indicates Money from the Entertainment Industry as well as being Loved ( Venus) by the Public ( Uranus).

As another reminder, above are two of the important Magi Quads in Clay's Planetary Geometry . Just as with some of Ruben's Quad's, notice one of Clay's is formed by the Super Success Midpoint, and involve Mercury.

Clay's Quads are Jupiter+Pluto<>Mercury+Mars which says Super Success ( Jupiter + Pluto) in applying energy singing and Strong, Energetic Singing ( Mars + Mercury). Also Success in Competitive Fields ( like the American Idol Contest Itself)[Jupiter + Pluto] through Vibrant, Energetic, Strong Singing[Mars + Mercury]

Isn't it interesting then, considering Clay's Heliocentric Magi Quad of Jupiter+Pluto<>Mars + Mercury that in Geocentric Longitude Clay also has a powerful Magi Quad consisting of the same planets...but replacing Pluto with Chiron. Jupiter + Chiron<>Mercury + Mars Which of course says Super Charisma and Recognition ( Jupiter + Chiron) from Energetic, Strong, Muscular Singing ( Mars + Mercury). Since Jupiter Chiron is also a Cinderella Alignment, this would also say a Cinderella (Jupiter+Chiron) through applying energy to singing and Energetic, Strong Singing ( Mercury + Mars).

So were there indicators as to which one could 'win'. It's clear that their charts show that both men had the astrological indicators which would empower them to be able to be great singers. What would be the 'deciding' factors?

The Transits that Clay and Ruben were having at the time of the Finale can help us to understand the trends that they were most likely to encounter

If you will recall, when we looked at the elections of 2002, we noted two important principles. The most important principle was this...the KEY chart, which would indicate whether or not a person would achieve the goal of being elected to office was the NOMINATION CHART..the Nomination Chart itself, and the linkages and clashes that it would make to the candidate, would indicate most reliably whether or not he/she would be able to win office. In lieu of being able to study the Nomination Chart though, we also learned that , because Magi Astrology is consistent, the TRANSITS that a person is having at the time of an election are also a reliable 'clue' with regard to the trends that they are likely to encounter at that time. This makes sense because it would be illogical if the nomination chart were to point strongly towards a person being able to succeed, if their transits at the time of the election would be very bad.

With regard to Clay, Ruben and all of the other contestants on American Idol, the KEY chart would have been the day that the producers would have contacted them and informed them that they had been chosen from the auditions. (The chart of the day that they actually auditioned, and the linkages and clashes that it would have made to their charts would have indicated whether or not they were likely to be cast). But since we don't have their 'casting' dates, we can look at the transits that each of them was having at the time of the finale....we know that both of them had to be having very good transits...because they were both performing well at the time. But one of them may have been having stars that were just that bit more sparkling at that time...when all of those people would have been calling in and voting.

 

 

 

 

Ruben was having more Cinderella Transits at the time of the Finale

When we look at Ruben's Transits in Geocentric Dimension for the night of the Finale, it's in DECLINATION that all of the most important 'action' is happening...in fact, not only was Transiting Venus in the Declinational Sky transiting Parallel to his Chiron, and applying with .1 degree but Transiting Chiron was contra-parallel to both his Saturn and his Venus. Ruben's Venus Saturn parallel in Declination is most probably his FOCUS ASPECT...and remember, Transiting CHIRON was/is the active moving body here.

The transit of Chiron to one's Saturn in a stressful and turbulent alignment is NOT a good transit...it is indicative of getting involved in using bad judgment and get rich quick schemes, and chasing rainbows. However, we need to look closely. Venus in Declination in Ruben's chart would be at 15.20 North..and Saturn would be at 15.04 ( because the computer does not have room to write all of this in while fitting the planets to the Declinational curve, it does not show up...but this information is calculated and always available to a person using MagiSoft in the planet listing on the main screen).

In the Geocentric Dimension, Planets stop and change direction in Declination as well as in Longitude

Just as planets in Geocentric Longitude stop and change direction, planets in Declination do as well. As it so happens, Chiron was preparing to station in declination ( late on 6/7/2003) at 15.18 S...and would then start to move South again..

[Those members who have our progressions modules will recognize that this would mean that the transit of Chiron to contra-parallel Ruben's Saturn would be an INCOMPLETE TRANSIT. In the manuals to our advanced software packages, we include special lessons in Magi Astrology which cover concepts such as Incompleted Transits and Focus Aspects.

We can be sure of this. While we do not know Ruben's exact time of birth, Saturn in Declination on the day he was born only moved from 15.04 N to 15.05 N.

What we cannot be 100 percent sure of is the precise position of Venus in Ruben's chart. 15.20 is the position for 12:00 Noon on that day in Frankfurt Germany where Ruben was born. On that day, Venus moved from 14.99N to 15.41N, in other words .42 degrees...so paralleled Saturn exactly very early and then majority of that 24 hour period moving further North...and spent half the day in a higher degree than 15.2 N. Because of this, it is most likely that Chiron's Declinational station was occurring much tighter to Venus...and it is also quite possible that Ruben would be having a LOOPED TRANSIT in Declination of Chiron to his Venus. [We can also keep in mind that Ruben and Clay's albums will be released in very early June]. We certainly do know that Ruben was named the winner of an extraordinarily popular contest and has become a CINDERELLA...and remember...we are looking for indications of the TRENDS that each many would be having...a station very very close in to Venus from Chiron would be a very strong sign.

Another strong sign, with no question was the transits that Ruben was and will be having to his Chiron from Transiting Pluto and Uranus..at the time of the Finale, Uranus at 11.2 S had moved just past the contra-parallel to Ruben's Chiron at 12.4 N. But keep in mind that Uranus is preparing to change direction in Declination, just as Chiron changed direction, and that because of this Uranus too is making a LOOPED TRANSIT to Ruben's Chiron. Pluto at 13.5 was applying toward the contra-parallel to Ruben's Chiron...and the Uranus/Pluto midpoint at 12.32 S was applying to contra-parallel his Chiron as well. The Uranus/Pluto midpoint is symbolic of Big Business Entertainment concerns and Famous Competitions.

Further, at the time of the Finale, Uranus was applying to contra-parallel both Ruben's Pluto and his Mercury, hence making a Super Transit symbolic of Fame and Popularity [Uranus] for Elevated Talent [Pluto] in Singing [Mercury].

Lastly, with Mercury turning direct and then moving forward, Ruben was having a looped Transit of Mercury right over his Venus. Remember that in the Accurate Planetary Symbolisms which Magi Astrology is based upon, one of Venus' meanings is Victory/the Victor.

Overall it is rather easy to see how Ruben's Short and Medium Term trends were helping him to be able to be very successful and charismatic, especially with regard to Singing, at this time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both Ruben and Clay were having the same Cinderella transits TO Chiron in their charts

So what about Clay? When we look at Clay's Transits for the period the first thing that we notice is that , just like Ruben, Clay too was having Transiting Venus applying to parallel his Chiron. Ruben and Clay were born in the same year...but at different ends of the year, 7 months apart. But at those two times in that year, Chiron in Declination was at almost the exact same position. (Notice too that just prior to the Finale, so in the days leading up to the Finale, Transiting Mercury was Parallel to Transiting Venus...and both were parallel to both Ruben and Clay's Chirons...the Golden Tone transit and the Cinderella Transit...what better symbolizes two men who had become Finalists ( Nationally Publicized Cinderellas - Venus Chiron) for their ability to Sing MAGIcally ( Mercury Chiron) Remember though that Ruben was most probably also having ANOTHER Cinderella Transit of Chiron to contra-parallel his Venus. Both men too had had the transit of Venus conjunct their Chiron in the days just prior to the Finale, in those days running up the the big show, when there was enormous buzz about the two of them in the media. Clay was and is having the exact same Cinderella Transit of Pluto contra-parallel his Chiron, just like Ruben...and as well the transiting midpoint of Uranus/Pluto contra-parallel his Chiron...just like Ruben...(is it a wonder that these two people who were having such similar transits were neck a neck? Magi Astrology helps you to understand things that you would not be able to otherwise.)...and that he too is having a LOOPED TRANSIT of Uranus contra-parallel his Chiron. Further, Clay is having the Super Financial transit of Pluto parallel his Venus...and in Longitude Transiting Pluto is applying to his Neptune

 

 

 

 

In Helio Longitude, Clay had further help from Transiting Mercury and Transiting Uranus forming a YOD with his Jupiter [ Successful(Jupiter) Popular and Famous (Uranus) Singing (Mercury)].

In Helio Latitude, he also had Uranus applying to parallel his Mercury, again Famous and Popular ( Uranus) Singing ( Mercury)...and Jupiter applying to contra-parallel his Chiron...the very best, successful ( Jupiter) public image and charisma (Chiron).

So it's obvious that Clay was having transits that were ALMOST every bit as good as Ruben's...excepting that especially close Declinational station by Chiron contra-parallel to Ruben's Venus. This is why after the voting was done, they were only divided by 130,000 votes out of 24 million ....that is one half of one percent!

Ruben's Progressions Are More Powerful Right Now

There are though astrological indications where Ruben does have a distinct advantage over Clay right now.....Ruben's progressions are far more powerful.

 

 

 

 

While Transits accurately indicate our Short and Medium Term Trends, Progressions indicate the Longer Term Trends. Obviously, any Longer Term Trend is going to be more powerful precisely because it will last longer.

Symmetrical Planetary Geometry is always the most powerful astrological indicator at any given time

In Geo Longitude, notice that Ruben's Progressed Sun is at 16.6 degrees of Taurus. Ruben's Natal Pluto is at 15.1 degrees Libra and Ruben's Natal Neptune is at 18.2 degrees of Sagittarius...so in Ruben's natal sextile of Pluto and Neptune...At 16.6 degrees, Ruben's Sun is leaving the quincunx alignment to Pluto while applying to the quincunx alignment to his Neptune...and the midpoint of Pluto and Neptune would be 16.25 degrees...so Ruben's Progressed Sun is about .35 degrees from this point, where all three planets would be most precisely BALANCED, hence where the Symmetrical Planetary Geometry would be at its strongest. We have to keep in mind though that we are using a 12 noon birth-time for Ruben...since the Sun moves at a rate of about 1 degree a day, we have a margin of error with regard to pinning down its exact progressed position of +/- .5 degrees. The YOD of Sun, Pluto and Neptune would indicate a Person ( Sun) who is competitive (Pluto) over the long haul and in Artistic Realms ( Neptune) and also a person of Elevated (Pluto) Artistic Talents...as well as a person who profits ( Pluto) from Artistic Talents ( Neptune) and from the Big Business ( Pluto) of Art.

Ruben is also having the Progressed Transit of Venus trine to his Pluto, which is a Super Financial Progression...Progressed Venus is also applying to an opposition to Uranus as well..but in Declination, Progressed Uranus is applying to contra-parallel Venus...by far the good progressions here overpower the negatives. Also in Declination Ruben's Progressed Venus is aligning with his Natal and Progressed Jupiter ( in our books we have noted that the combination of Venus and Jupiter can indicate a 'champion' or 'leader'.The key feature in the Geocentric Dimension though is the YOD...Planetary Synchronizations are always the most important features whenever they occur....and the most important Planetary Synchronizations are those that form SYMMETRICAL PLANETARY GEOMETRY.

 

 

 

 

Ruben has a Progressed Transit that forms a Grand Trine in his Heliocentric Chart right now

A picture of course is worth a thousand words...and basically this picture says it all if one is still wondering 'why Ruben rather than Clay'

As you can see Ruben's Helio Natal chart has a trine between Mars and Chiron...and Ruben's Progressed Mercury is creating a Grand Trine with them, and moving towards the point of greatest balance hence strongest symmetry. The Mercury, Mars, Chiron Grand Trine symbolizes Energetic and Energy Applied [Mars] Charismatic, Remarkable, Golden Toned Singing [Mercury + Chiron]. A Grand Trine is ALWAYS the very best form of Symmetrical Planetary Geometry. Also notice that Mercury is just past the point of Maximum Planetary Balance between Mars and Chiron...and keep in mind that Mercury in Helio Longitude moves quite quickly, and that we are not sure precisely what time of day Ruben was born. It's possible that this geometry could be even tighter than it is...and it is quite tight now. If that were not good enough, notice too that in Longitude Ruben also has the Progressed Transit of Jupiter trine to his Uranus...which of course is the Super Fame progression.

 

 

 

 

Clay's Progressions are very good...but not as powerful

While Clay is having some wonderful progressions, it is obvious even at a quick glance that he isn't having any progressions that are forming Grand Trines or Yods. Clay is having the Cinderella Progression and Progressed Transit of Progressed Sun quincunx to natal and Progressed Chiron, and this will be continuing to build for the next 3 years. Clay is also having the long long lasting Progression Transit of Neptune to his Mercury, which of course indicates that his ability to apply artistic talent to singing will continue to increase for a long time to come.

Clay is close to having a Declinational Triple Parallel, which is the equivalent of a Grand Trine in Longitude...Progressed Mars and Progressed Sun are both making a Progressed Transit to Clay's Mercury...but the geometry of the triplet does not include Chiron...while Ruben's Grand Trine does. Nonetheless, it is obvious that Clay is very close to the peak of the Progressed Transit of Sun parallel his Mercury, which of course says 'The Singer".

Ruben's natal astrology has more Universal Linkages

In Helio Latitude, Clay has the perpetual Progressed Transit of Uranus parallel his Venus .03 degrees and applying ...this of course is a very good background progression for Clay, but it will never peak in his lifetime because Helio Latitude movement is so very slow...but it truly is a wonderful progression to have as a wind at your back, if you are a performer, throughout one's entire life. Notice too, that Ruben, like Clay, has a natal alignment of Venus and Uranus in Helio Latitude...but that it is Ruben's Natal alignment which forms the Universal linkage to the Earth/Moon complex because it is a contra-parallel...of course it is always a sign of a remarkable gift whenever someone has Venus enhancing Uranus...but it is obviously even more powerful if that gift is linked, literally, to the world!

As you will recall, when we were examining Clay's natal astrology, mention was made that it was possible that Clay may have been born a bit earlier than 12 noon, and that one reason for considering this would have been Heliocentric Mercury in Longitude. Using a 12 noon birth-time, we have a Longitude position for Helio Mercury for Clay that is 11.5 degrees...and a natal Chiron position of 7.7 degrees..so they are 4 degrees from being 'conjunct'. One of the hallmarks of the Mercury Chiron enhancement ( or the transit or progression) is having a 'Golden Tone' in one's voice..having a Voice ( Mercury) which is charismatic and almost hypnotically appealing. Clay also has this alignment in Helio Latitude...and because he does, he has the Heliocentric version of a PLANETARY ECLIPSE, even with the 4 degree orb between Mercury and Chiron in Longitude..however, if born a bit earlier, it might be that Clay is also having the Perpetual Progression of his Progressed Chiron applying ever closer to his natal Mercury, because as you can see his Progressed Helio Chiron is now at 8 degrees of Taurus. Until a precise birth-time is known for Clay, if it ever is, we won't be able to be sure, but it is something to keep in the back of our minds. Even if Clay were having the progression, it would be a background progression at this point and would, like his Uranus Venus progression, never come exact in his lifetime. Because the most powerful transits and progressions at any given time are always those that are nearest to coming exact, it would not have been able to help him vault over Ruben's Grand Trine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Clay's Progressed Planetary Geometry includes a powerful Magi Quad...but a Magi Quad is not as powerful a form of Symmetrical Planetary Geometry as a Grand Trine

Clay did/does have a PROGRESSED PLANETARY SYNCHRONIZATION occurring in his Magi Solar Progressions. Progressed Pluto, Venus, Uranus and Neptune are all synchronized. Further, Progressed Venus is applying to the conjunction to Uranus [Loved (Venus) by the Public ( Uranus) and Money ( Venus) from the Entertainment Industry ( Uranus)]...and both are at or very near to the midpoint of Progressed Neptune(Artistry/Artistic Talent) and Progressed Pluto(Big Business/Profit/Competitive Skill/Elevated Talent/Power)...in fact, this forms a PROGRESSED MAGI QUAD, because the midpoint of Progressed Venus and Progressed Uranus is conjunct the midpoint of Progressed Neptune and Progressed Pluto.

Loved by the Public(Venus+Uranus) for Elevated Levels of or Powerful Artistic Talent (Neptune+Pluto)and Money from the Entertainment industry (Venus + Uranus) from Big Business involving Artistic Talent/Artistry/Creativity ( Pluto + Neptune).

So, YES, there ARE Progressed Magi Quads...just as there are progressed Grand Trines, Yods and T-squares. However most Magi Quads are not as powerful a case of SYMMETRICAL PLANETARY GEOMETRY as a Grand Trine, because in a Grand Trine one has not only 3 enhancement alignments but in addition each of the planets involved in the Grand Trine ALSO are enhanced by the Midpoint Crossings of the other two planets . Indeed, the only type of Magi Quad that would be as powerful ( in fact even more powerful) than a single Grand Trine would be a case where you have a CONJUNCTED GRAND TRINE, where two planets were very near to each other at one corner of the Equilateral Triangle. When this happens you have both two equilateral triangles...and a parallelogram...in other words 2 Grand Trines...and a Magi Quad!

 

 

 

 

 

Ruben's Progressions tell us why he was the winner

By looking at Ruben's Progressions through, he was/is the one having the Progressed Transit forming a Grand Trine, involving both Mercury (Singing) and Chiron (Recognition)...and the Progressed Transit forming a Yod of Sun, Neptune and Pluto.and he was/is also having the Progression and the Progressed Transit of Venus to Jupiter, which indicates The Champion, The Leader..that progression is a big clue...but when push came to shove, Ruben's Symmetrical Planetary Geometry was the MAGIcal factor. Symmetrical Planetary Geometry always is.
